MART is hosting a special event POP ROCKS on Saturday July 25th from 3-10pm at The Arsenal, an amazing, brand new event space located at 143 Roebling St. (at Metropolitan), Studio 4B, Brooklyn . POP ROCKS is a pop-up shop meets rock n’ roll party…a day and night of fun. It will be a mixed bag of artists and designers s...elling wares, live bands, DJs, multimedia art installations, cheap eats, hair cuts, free make up demos and more! Peruse photography, art, books, mixtapes, jewelry, interesting knick-knacks, clothing, shoes and accessories while listening to live music and cuttin’ loose!
MART will be hosting pop up events throughout the summer (mostly in North Brooklyn ) featuring a bevy of talented artists.

MART is Brooklyn ’s independent collective of fashion, product designers, artists, stylists, and musicians. Not stopping at the typical creative mix, we also include holistic, green minded professionals, as well as locavore and vegan-minded caterers. Housing Brooklyn ’s emerging talent in one inspired, convivial, unrelentingly chic space, our objective is to connect one another and the greater NYC public to Brooklyn ’s up-and-coming. Through diverse retail fashion events, screenings, parties, showcases, classes and more, we will build a fervent matrimony between talent and customers, industry professionals and the media. We anticipate fueling this passion in a pre-existing web-based marriage; we support and share in Etsy.com, Elsewares.com, Refinery29.com and Brooklyn Indie Market’s established online communities. Planting roots within this independent Brooklyn-based community, mart provides a physical space to meet, share information, and learn from each other, exhibit great work and to enthuse and cultivate a community of creativity and authenticity.
Our products and services converge under one roof, offering the public a convenient, one-stop-shop to get a first glimpse of the many new names in Brooklyn ’s growing design, art, music and culinary community.
We hope to expand to non-New York producers and consumers interested in our mission and develop into party planning, a music venue, and cocktail alchemy.

About Business Plan Bootcamp:
Since July 2008, 3rd Ward Edu and fashion designer/3rd Ward member Bob Bland have partnered to offer professional development classes for creative entrepreneurs at 3rd Ward. Based on her won experience building a fashion design company from scratch, Bob has developed a 6 week curriculum that jump-starts the business plan creation process and is specifically designed to accommodate creative professionals with busy schedules and limited resources. Successful graduates of the class include Tiffany Porter and Alex Monroe, who recently won NYMag's award for Best Jewelry with their Greenpoint-based retail concept, Old Hollywood.
