Broomfield High School will be this year's host for the Broomfield's Veterans Day observance at 10 a.m., Nov. 11, 2009, in the school's auditorium at 1 Eagle Way. Following the event, at noon, will be a grand opening of the veterans museum.

City and County of Broomfield The Paul Derda Recreation Center and Broomfield Community Center will be closing at 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) and both are expected to open at 7 a.m. Thursday.
City and County of Broomfield The Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library will be closing at 5 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) and expects to reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday, depending on the weather. Weather conditions have also affected the recreation center classes. Please call the Paul Derda Recreation Center at 303-460-6900 prior to attending classes this evening -- some classes have been cancelled. The building will have limited child sitting available.

Shep, was the loveable U.S. 36 tollbooth dog who lived from 1950 - 1964. He was a friend to the Broomfield toll booth operators and would greet the toll road drivers - many of whom brought dog treats for him in their vehicles.
