Ali what can I say, your words touch my heart. This was the second show I have been blessed with. Cought you when I was livin out in AZ this past year and I'm back in MN where my family is and the heart of hip hop for me. Great show at First Ave...could see that happiness in your face and joy from within when you were ...up on that stage. Tears came to my eyes when you started up with Forest Whitiker, a personal fav! Someday I hope to shake your hand my brother. Til then lots of love, peaceRead More

Marty Quist Great show at first ave on friday. I really liked the images and video that you showed during room with a view. It reminded me of home/childhood. I grew up 2 blocks off lowry. used to go to E and L, got my tats done at AA tattoo's, and my Grandma still lives down on lowry and colfax.

David i caught your show in nyc, and just wanted to say a few words in appreciation
we need more fresh voices like your own, not just in hip hop, but in the world at large, to remind us what is most dear
to count our blessings, value family and community, and to keep our eyes on the final hour
us common folks- we do need a new movement to take back what is ours

Wow! I was introduced just recently to your music and I am in love! I was at last nights show at 1st Ave and it was unbelievable! I have heard people say that music is power, but to have tears in your eyes and warmth in your soul at a hip-hop show?!? That shit was so amazing and felt awsome. I have always been a fan of... hip-hop, but now that I am a woman, I am realizing my worth and tend to be turned off by most of the lyrics and attitudes that plague the culture of hip-hop these days. It is reFRESHing to hear a new tune being sung and I appreciate all that you do! Keep on doin' what your doin', it means a lot to US!Read More

Max Lowenthal Man, I wish I had gone to your show last night so bad! Me Being only 14 my parents think it would be "unsafe" to be at first ave. or something lame like that! I begged but I couldn't convince them. Guess I'm just stuck here listening to my copy of Us.

Maybe you could let your parents listen to "Us". And definitely, "Truth Is".Then they might want to go with you (you could always pretend not to know them while you're there; I remember what it was like to be 14) I can't think of many other musicians, Hip Hop or otherwise, who send such a positive and intelligent message. I saw the show Saturday... Read More night with my 11 year old son (and I turned him on to Brother Ali). There were other kids there his age and younger, including a beautiful 6 year old girl who appeared to be having a great time. The energy in the club was awesome and frankly, you would have been much safer with the crowd in First Avenue than you would have with the drunken, rude, but very nicely dressed, wedding party who passed by outside the club. Brother Ali is a poet. He speaks the truth, which some people do find offensive, but perhaps not your parents? Throughout history, poets, preachers and philosophers have been prejudged and punished for speaking truth to power. Lucky for us they did. Maybe your parents don't like the language? I would rather my son hear and say the word FUCK a million times than have him bullied or exploited or exposed to the violence that so many "respectable" parents allow on a daily basis. In fact, I encourage him to utilize, LOUDLY, whatever language he has to in order to avoid a fight or a bully or a predator. Truth does not have to be dressed up and pretty. It just has to BE.

Sam Schmieg I don't know if you remember me, But I was at your show in Sioux Falls and you kept giving me highfives. Also I saw you last night and was front and center again. Anyways, I just wanted to say that you gave me 3 (if you include Sound Set) of the best shows of my life. You have made a huge impact on my life, and I will keep listening to your music till the day I die.

Yo Ali, Thanks for the amazing show on Fri. I just got back to Cali and wanted to say thank you for the show, and thank you to the people of the Twin Cities for all the great hospitality. Also, I am going to revise the "Bad Mufuckers" shirt to include BK on the top of it to send him one. I'll send an updated one to ...you too. When we were hanging out waiting for you after the show, your in-laws (I think) came up and asked if I was wearing an "Ali" shirt and then when I showed your father-in-law he was like that's me on the album saying "ain't you brother ali, you a bad mufucker man." So, we got to talk to them for a bit, awesome people my man.Read More
