We wanted to tell you about an important event that took place last Thursday, October 15th in NYC for Brown’s Young Athletic Alumni. About 140 former Brown athletes from the classes of 1999-2009 came together in NYC for an event hosted by the Brown Young Athletic Alumni Council and the Brown Sports Foundation. The nig...ht was a lot of fun and we were glad to see so many young alumni come out despite the nasty New York weather!
One important thing that was announced that night is that Brown’s young athletic alumni have been challenged with $25,000 from 5 former teammates. If we raise $25,000 from October 15th through October 31st, we can secure these Challenge funds! This gives us the opportunity to raise $50,000 in 2 weeks!
We proposed the idea of giving ONLY $20/month to your favorite sport until the end of this fiscal year, June 30, 2010 – that equals out to a $180 total gift!
Many people that attended Thursday night’s event made a generous commitment to Brown Athletics that night. But, we still need $5,000 more to reach our $25,000 fundraising goal! The Challenge runs until October 31st and we can’t leave the $25,000 Challenge funds on the table.
If you’re already making a leadership gift to Brown Athletics at a higher level, please renew that at this time so we can count it towards this Challenge.
Please help us in reaching this important Challenge goal by making your monthly recurring commitment now by visiting www.gifts.brown.edu.
Thank you and Go Bears!
