Estefany I managed to cut the thingy off, i just upgraded from a classic 30gb to the 120 gb, yep i totally cut it off and smoothed out the bottom, THEN covered the bottom with this velvet/felt stuff, that glues on one side, and is really thin, to prevent any possible scratches onto the metal. anyway turned out great :) it slides less on top of theipod so i worry less about if falling off when the wires aren't around it.:) yay me heheehhee
