That may be, but Thursday at the Square shouldn't be over this early, particularly since we're finally getting some decent weather now.

Amen to that Steve!

A concert that you have to pay for is a poor replacement for Thursday in the square. I for one am boycotting those events. I think you cheated the consumer and all of the businesses down town when you decided to end it in August and then have the nerve to offer us this.

Leslie
I'm sorry you ended it in July.

Leslie -- "all the businesses downtown?!!" Which of them make extra money during this event -- seriously.. I think the beer vendors do well, but my guess is that the rest don't benefit much at all! (maybe NFTA)
What's with the sense of entitlement? I'm glad Buffalo (and event sponsors) supports these types of events!

Hmm... are people allowed to bring their own stuff to the paid events? I personally don't care for the crap they serve at the square, and had my two decent self-brought bevs. confiscated!

y was the schedule so short this year, im now getting drunk on thursdays with nothing to dooooo

Mike
Why does everyone have to complain about everything? You get good bands for free and you complain that the organizers scheduled it AND had bad weather! Where do you live that you controlled the weather? And where do you think you could book more bands for the event on short notice? Especially ones that someone like Leslie would go see without
...

complaint. Thanks you to the TIS organizers for putting on these concerts and to all of the organizers of the summer concert series'. I for one love the music in Buffalo!!!

I gotta say, I remember not being able to go to the Dropkick concert in 2007, and that was September 20th. September. Not July. Way to soon a finish for the event.

You got that right Sara! I stopped going to the Square about two years ago but I've been to every Buffalo Rocks the Harbour! Great venue, great acts, plenty of room to move around and the people who are there, are there for the music, not just to get drunk.

The square lineups suck because all your morons pay to go to the 'rocks the harbour'. Just like everything else in buffalo... if you will pay for it... they will charge !!

agreed, how do they end in July? I mean now we have to pay to see bands that already played for free in previous years? They aren't even good bands either!

TATS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! I would go to FREE concerts at the canal but I refuse to pay for the same groups I saw for free. They also need some new acts! BRING BACK FREE CONCERTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

absolutely agree with you Emm Jaye! 2 or 3 years ago i saw Robert Cray Band for free and they rocked! This year i paid to see them at the Harbor and they stunk!

Mike I have never complained about anything before. And how do you know what kind of music I would go to? I have been to most of them and never complained. I just think that it is sad to take away a tradition that has been a part of thursday night for years.

OK.Thursday in the square should have gone on for a few more weeks.BUT Harbour place concerts are very reasonably priced and offer great music..Thursday in the square=party time...Harbour place = party time with folks that seriously want to hear the music that is offered. Gheesh.will every one quit bitching???

Donna, it was the same with Joan Osborn. She was great at the free show a couple of years ago and not so great at the $10. show.
I just can't believe that TATS is loosing money on this and has to charge people. Every other free concert venue in this area are managing very well.
