Recycle-A-Bicycle's 15th Birthday Celebration!

A benefit auction featuring the NY400 Batavus Bicycles and bike-themed art.
Recycle-A-Bicycle is having their 15th Birthday celebration on December 14th, 2009! Com...e out and show a great community reuse group some support at Superfine in Dumbo. BIGNYC is providing a gift certificate for their benefit auction.

Recycle-A-Bicycle is a community-based bike shop and non-profit organization that provides educational/job training programs and encourages environmental stewardship and everyday bicycle use. Through programs such as Earn-A-Bike, Ride Club, Cycle Craft, and Summer Youth Employment Program, RAB is dedicated to the health and well-being of NYC youth. In this past year alone, RAB has worked with more than 1,000 young people and salvaged 1,200 bicycles from the waste stream.

Build It Green! NYC, in conjunction with the Council on the Environment of NYC’s (CENYC) Office of Recycling Outreach and Education (OROE), is proud to host its Second Annual Recyclefest Block Party. On May 9, the gentle men at Build It Green are shutting down the block for an afternoon of live music, food, crafts, and... a CENYC Stop ‘N Swap. Feel free to bring usable (fly) clothing, sporting goods, books, housewares, and toys to the free swap. Or just bring yourself and enjoy the festivities!
