Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Phoenix Over three years ago Sgt. Gilad Shalit was taken captive by Hamas in a cross-border raid at the Gaza-Israel border. He is believed to be alive and in captivity in Gaza, although his exact whereabouts are unknown. Shalit's 23rd birthday is Aug. 28. Please say a prayer for his speedy return to his home and family in Israel.
