Burien/ Interim Art Space (B/ IAS) This is the cake that was made for the thank you party for Dane and Kathy. La Costa Restaurant in Burien, December 17th, 2009.
Burien/ Interim Art Space (B/ IAS) The crane comes at 1:30 today to take down the Passage. One day later then expected but it is happening! Come on by, it should take about an hour. Live and Learn the kinetic eagle and salmon piece comes down Tuesday at 10:15am. All of the art will be gone then. What a year!
Burien/ Interim Art Space (B/ IAS) Today 5 pieces of art are being de-installed. If you would like to stop by and help we will be there at 10am. The Passage, mother and child piece, comes down on Weds. The site will be empty next weekend. After working on this for a year Dane and I will be sad to see it go! Kathy

We need lots of help on this one- it is going to be a great time!!! We need everything from pumpkin wranglers to fire watchers to flower makers to coffin painters! We are building a crazy and wild Pumpkin game t...hat will be 20' tall and we need your help on that too!!
We need to set up lots of 10x20s on the day of along with lots of other stuff!

Hello Everybody,
Please come join us at 6pm on Tuesday the 13th at the Burien Community Center in room 11. We are planning our last event and we want to go out in style and we really really need your help!!!
I know Sunday November 1st is the day after Halloween and the Hive Mind party but we know you can party for a fu...ll weekend! The event is from 3:30pm - 11pm on the B/ IAS site.
We need lots of volunteers for the event especially a couple of people who can run the pumpkin carving booth. The goal is to fill the site with 1000 carved and lit pumpkins so this will be a busy area!!! And don't worry cause King County Solid Waste is donating compost bins to us so they will all get composted and probably make some elephants really happy....
We are also building a couple of surprise pumpkin games... for example... Slingshot pumpkins !!!! We will need help building and running these events also!
We are going to have a cemetery filled with artist painted coffins,5 Ofrendas (altars) and one community altar so start thinking about what you would like to add to the community ofrenda. Along with face painting, 2 Mariachi bands (one that has 16-20 musicians), Pyrosutra is performing and Incunabulum will be making an appearance and lots and lots of pumpkins!!! This is no small affair and we would love your help!
And besides general volunteering if you are good at making paper flowers or know how to make sugar skulls or anything that might add to the event please let us know, if you can't make it to the meeting but can volunteer and participate just email us!
Thanks to everyone who has helped make the Interim Art Space happen, it has been a great success and we hope you can help us create and celebrate in one last amazing event!

Burien/ Interim Art Space (B/ IAS) This weekend is Pieces of 8!---Come help set up!! 8 speaker stacks, 8 channels, 20 composers with their compositions playing 10am-6pm saturday and sunday and 7 Live performers on Saturday night!!! We have 2400' of speaker cable to run and cover and 1800' of power cable to run and cover!!!! Please come help us out!!! We... will be on site from 4pm on Friday and all day and night Saturday and sunday !!!
