Frog Hollow
Sculptor John Brickels creates a diverse group of buildings, machines,
robots, pipes and claymobiles which are unified through their common
medium -the monochromatic clay which infuses these sculptures with a
gentle narrative and subtle humor. His falling barn sculptures,
tittering urban row houses and collapsed rust-belt ...factories celebrate
the hidden beauty of entropy. Claymobiles spring from a love/hate
relationship with automobile culture, while machines are an off-shoot
of the rust-belt culture of his childhood home and a fascination with
the many armed, asbestos covered furnace that loomed in the basement.
Robots are a desire to put a human face on his work and a nod to the
anachronistic stylings of the steampunk movement.

Frog Hollow
Frog Hollow will feature the pen and ink drawings of Sarah Kinsella Waite of Burke Hollow, VT during the month of September. This series of pen-and-ink
illustrations, partially inspired by art of the Northwest Coast, uses the natural forms of animals, plants and trees in a formline and symbolic style. The subject of th...e series is the Northeast ecosystem and the relationships among the flora and fauna within it.
Frog Hollow
Vermont artist, Meryl Lebowitz, has been creating unique visual art for more than 30 years. A self-taught oil painter, Lebowitz has experimented with painting not only on canvas and paper, but also on a variety of unlikely surfaces, from violins to scrap metal. Her paintings range from the realistic to the surrealistic..., often combining photographs with the painted image. Her subjects are familiar: local faces and landscapes, the interior of her studio or favorite restaurants, friends and family, but their appeal is universal.
