C64 CLASSICS ON NINTENDO Wii VIRTUAL CONSOLE!
CLASSIC TITLES ON A NEXT-GEN CONSOLE

Ah, the 80's. The decade that saw us using mobile phones larger than our heads, combing our hair higher than the neighbor's garden fences, and battling with the Rubix cube until the early hours of the morning. It was an era that produced Flashdance, Michael Jackson's white glove and Madonna's black fishnets.

It was also the decade that saw the birth of the Commodore-64 , the best-selling home computer that took the US by storm. The video games released onto the C64 are generally considered to be the ultimate retro gaming classics and now, for the first time, you can play them on one of the world's most amazing next-generation consoles: the Nintendo Wii.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEOS, SCREEN SHOTS AND COMPETITIONS

Keep checking back to catch all of the latest videos and screens. From interviews with the original game designers to in-game footage previews, we'll keep you updated on all in the world of C64 on Virtual Console.

In addition, keep an eye open for our Go! Retro Competition and chance to win some fantastic gaming prizes.

Virtual Console games from Commodore 64 will be available from the Wii Shop Channel soon and can be downloaded for 500 Wii Points each.

C64 on Virtual Console Official Joystiq Review for California Games! The verdict? - 'Check it out!'

nintendo.joystiq.com
is an old favorite: California Games. Featuring an eclectic mix of sports to play (are these games all Californians know and love?), it's a game that many likely remember fondly. Well, in playing it for the first time in, oh, over 10 years, we still found it to be quite fun. ...

I didn't realize this was available - I played this remake on GBA a while ago and it's decentish. I don't really care for the art overhaul ( I prefer the original) but the gameplay is pretty true to the original game. If I were going to buy it though, I'd rather have the original version.

Yes, yes, YES!!

I remember that being maybe the first survival horror game I ever played. I would buy that in an instant if it were released.

It's sad that these games come out at such a snail's pace, considering the Commodore 64 had like 10,000 games on it. Many of them text adventures which probably won't ever see the light of day on Wii.

The text adventures were great, but that was back before everything had to be about killing people and blowing things up. Wasteland was C64's best game. It's just not the same on a PC.
