CARE Hospital
Odie ...
Odie is a four year old male neutered orange tabby. Odie came to CARE Hospital after he was hit by a car several months ago. He came in with a broken front leg-elbow (among other injuries). Attempts to repair his badly injured leg were unsuccessful, necessitating amputation two months ago.
Odie has adjusted v...ery well to having three legs and can run, jump and play very well. He doesn't like heights, but will jump up on a 1-1.5 ft high bench. He is very sweet and loving, but it needs to be on his own terms. The CARE staff loves him dearly and wants him to have his own forever home.
Odie doesn't mind being left alone and can be very independent, but he is also very affectionate and purrs very easily if you let him come to you, which he does readily when he's not confined to a cage. Odie is very playful and loves to chase things! He will chase leashes and strings for as long as you’re willing to play.
Odie would probably be best in a family of older kids since he gets over stimulated and doesn't like to be picked up and carried around (this may change as he acclimates to his injuries). He is not fond of dogs, and his exposure to cats has been through a cage. He would love to be the only pet in the house; however, I’m sure he would adjust to other cats if they leave him alone.
Because Odie only has three legs he would need to be an indoor only cat. If you are interested in adopting Odie, please email Kim at kim@carehospital.org.
