This is looking to be a fantastic Handmade Music - we've got the Grant Sisters showing off modular patch cords made of felt for wearable sound suits, plus the fantastic Great Tiger showing their DIY arcade button controller for Ableton Live and playing some music for us. That and - as usual - other surprise technology ...appearances you won't want to miss.

Thursday night in Brooklyn.

FREE -- Chill out with laptop music lovers, live PA artists, and Ableton Live gurus from the CDM community. Meet + greet at 675 Bar, the cozy, underground Meatpacking hang, complete with a bar + treat menu.

Hosted by DubSpot, as part of their weekend-long Live Sessions tour, and createdigitalmusic.com

From the expressive... to the strange, electronic creators share the tools they use to play Live. Confirmed:
* Isomer Transition (aka RJ Valeo) doing some superb-quality techno with lots of knobs and a machinedrum + Ableton Live
* Ted Hayes’ EggBeater wireless shaker for rhythms, built in free software Pure Data and used (in this case) with Ableton Live
* Sound artist Ranjit Bhatnagar with a musical MIDI ironing board (pictured below) controlling Live, as seen at Handmade Music (at which it was covered by Wired.com)
* Track Team Audio’s Michael Hatsis showing some tweaked-out Live control in action – hopefully including his APC40 hacks and monome patches.
* Peter Kirn, playing a set with control TBD – possibly Lemur and/or my Android phone

NOTE: ENTER ON W 13TH STREET, between Hudson + 9th (not, oddly, on Hudson even though that's the address!)

CDM: Create Digital Music/Motion * Noisepages Actually, one thought was to have an online Processing hacking group ... open to suggestions. (could even interlink different in-person spots)

Hosted by Peter Kirn, createdigitalmusic.com
and Joel Johnson, Boing Boing (BB gadgets, Offworld)

Okay, you've beaten Mario Kart. You're through with Ratchet & Clank. You're tired of lame iPhone novelties. It's time to make some real music with your shiny portable gadget. And it's time to grab a few drinks and snacks whi...le you're at it.

While Blip Fest celebrates the underground vintage computer / game system scene, we'll be having an informal mixer to enjoy the homebrew and unusual music making apps on newer devices. We'll have a few of them going, so even if you don't have a gadget along, you can check them out! (Bring headphones!)

And it's 2-for-1 drinks / happy hour ... just outside the venue. So before Blip, get some 32-bit on and meet readers of Boing Boing and CDM.
