Independent artist Gavin Castleton will be performing with his trio in CVPA Room 153. The show is free and starts at 7:30PM.
Gavin Castleton is an experimental singer-songwriter now residing in Portland, Oregon. Castleton has a very eclectic style of music blending genres such as soul, pop, rock, hip-hop, and experimen...tal. He has performed with many bands in the New England area including Ebu Gogo, One Drop, Club D'elf, and most notably Gruvis Malt.
Joining Gavin will be Ploy and Something About Horses-two bands featuring CVPA students.
Ploy is an alternative/post-punk band that takes a unique approach to the alternative rock sound, including electro-acoustic elements, extended song structures, and unusual rhythms.
Something About Horses is an avant garde rock ensemble that blends heavy rock and jazz fusion with contemporary classical and avant-garde genres in a very energetic format.

On February 14, 2008, CVPA welcomed visiting artist John Willis, whose stunning exhibition "A View From the Rez" documented the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, tribal home of the Oglala Lakota Sioux People.

On February 21, 2008, CVPA held an opening reception for the Junior Fine Arts Show. This group exhibition featured recent work by junior undergraduate students in the CVPA Department of Fine Arts. The exhibition, curated by CVPA faculty, featured work representing the drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture studios.

On February 28, 2008, the CVPA Department of Music kicked off its Spring 2008 Guest Artist Series with the avant-garde jazz trio Trine, featuring CVPA faculty members Rick Britto (saxophone), Chris Poudrier (drums), and Jim Robitaille (guitar).
