Don Gallo

Don Gallo Got my new Ventilators in time for last week's NY Marathon. They were great! Just the right amount of support, and with temps in the low 50s I was neither too warm nor too cool. Looking forward to trying out Stabylix Insulators now that ski season's upon us here in CO!

CW-X Conditioning Wear Last Friday we photographed our new Fall/Winter 2010 line. Here are some insider behind-the-scene shots!

Brian
I am a 400
meter runner and for this indoor season I am planning to purchase the
Insulator Pro tights, Insulator Zip Top, and the support socks. I have a few questions:

1) Would you recommend wearing layers underneath the zip top or it provides sufficient warmth on it's own? Like is the zip top more of a lightweight jacke...t or shirt?

2)
Do the LiteFit Boxer Briefs and regular boxer briefs fit and feel like
compression shorts? In terms of what to wear underneath my pro tights
during practice, I saw you recommended the LiteFit boxers but would
wearing regular Nike compression shorts do the job? (sorry about the
Nike, it's just that I already own them.)

3)During races I am planning to wear the support socks and some type of
support brief under my team shorts. Are the support socks tight enough
to stay up for the race? whenever I wear normal high socks, they fall
down because I am sprinting.
Thanks, Brian.

Hi Marco, check out the 3/4 Length Stabilyx Tights - they offer targeted support to the knee, IT band, lower back and core/abs. The cropped length makes them cool in warmer weather!

Percevial

Percevial What's the best logic to follow when choosing the right size? According to the sizing chart on the Website, I should wear a large, but I am not sure this is the best option for me. I am not the average runner who has a lean build.

Hi Percevial, if you fall into the "blue area" within that size range on the chart, that's what we generally recommend for the best compression and support benefits. However, if you're not going to be comfortable, the next size up is the next best option. They will still be form-fitting in the larger size, just not as compressing. The length will ... Best bet: try on both sizes on to see which one feels better. A great option is to order from www.zappos.com - they offer free shipping and returns! Remeber, if the tights wrinkle along the seams or bunch up behind the knees, they're probably too large. If your movement feels inhibited in any way and the tights are uncomfortable, they are probably too small.

Jim Ritter

Jim Ritter Question, I live in Texas and I'm stumped on the real differences between the ventilator series and the others. Are the Pro.Expert/Stablyx going to be a wise choice when it's 80+ degrees? What do I lose in support with the ventilator?

Hi Jim, the Ventilator Tight primarily targets support to the knees, calf muscles, and IT band. It features mesh paneling in the quad and calf areas for more heat regulation. We generally say they are comfortable up to about 70 degrees, depending on your preference. The Expert, Stabilyx, and Pro tights can be worn comfortably up to about 65 degrees. The Ventilator Tights are most similar in support to the Expert Tights.

Thanks CW-X for helping me hike the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim. This was my mother-in-law's idea in honor of her 70th birthday and the whole family (including my 11 year old daughter and 9 year old twin daughters) have been training for this all summer. I have had arthritis in my knees since I was 18 (suffice to say th...at has been a while) and the CW-X tights give me such great knee support that I was able to make the 14 miles down and 10 miles back up without knee pain. Here I am in my CW-X tights going down the North Kaibab trail (at the Supai Tunnel).Read More
