I love Cake's willingness to discuss ideas and keep an open mind. Rand's ideas were so radical and influential, coming at a time when society did not encourage women to think for themselves and compete with men in business or academia.

Pure laissez-faire has problems, but growing the power and reach of the central government does, too. Bush and the republicans massively increased the size and reach of central government over the states. Obama is continuing this trend. for people to think that its out of their control is idiotic. I agree the amount of issues are overwhelming but don't say you can't have an impact.

all we can do is be thankful for what we have and not be assholes about other peoples problems.
