Join the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies in welcoming Professor Rory Stewart, Director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy. Professor Stewart is the author of "The Places in Between," a chronicle of his 6000-mile walk from Turkey to Bangladesh, and "The Prince of the Marshes," in which he spends a year as... deputy governor of Amarah and Nasiriyah, two impoverished provinces in southern Iraq.
We are delighted to have Professor Stewart deliver the 9th Annual Navin Narayan Memorial Lecture. This event is free and open to the public. A cocktail reception will follow.

On March 19, 2009, 100 Social Studies seniors traipsed to Hilles at 2pm after weeks of no sleep and little showering, fueled by caffeine and their desire to turn in the defining project of their undergraduate education: the Senior Thesis.
We obviously thought that rewarding these sleep-deprived--yet elated--students wi...th cake and champagne would be the best course of action.
