MIT Museum This week all hands are on deck so to speak as the Museum gets ready to open a new exhibition, Sampling MIT and an enlarged store.
MIT Museum Still wrangling with photos for our new exhibit, Sampling MIT. Exhibiting ongoing scientific research is not exactly the same thing as working with paintings that originated hundreds of years ago. Our objects are still in the lab being tinkered with!
MIT Museum The Innovation Gallery opened in the fall of 2007, adding 5,000 square feet to this unique science and technology museum. The new ground floor gallery includes a museum store filled with fun t-shirts, geeky jewelry, books and stuffed microbes.

MIT Museum Pulling information together about the upcoming exhibition, Sampling MIT, which will feature the work of 7 MIT labs and centers. Expect to fine copepods, a red telephone, and 3-d TV amongst the exhibits.
MIT Museum Just heard we'll have a new display up at the end of the month from the toy design class at MIT. Always fun to see what the students have dreamed up and worked so hard on.

How is privacy being redefined in the new digital era of ubiquitous information and constant surveillance? The exhibition Connections (through Sept. 13) was conceived from research done by the Sociable Media Group at the MIT Media Lab, and includes the dynamic new installation, Metropath(ologies). In a world overflowi...ng with information and non-stop communication this modular and interactive exhibition poses the question of how people's notions of privacy have changed the context of hyper-connected and hyper-aware real and virtual spaces. Where is the line between privacy and transparency in this new age? How have these issues affected the way people live in and think about their communities?
