Midwives are ‘absolutely best’
This is in response to a letter in the Times from Sarah Hamel. I am sorry to hear about your experience at Cambridge Memorial Hospital concerning the birth of your son.
I read your letter and I really wanted to tell you that I had an absolutely wonderful experience with my midwife. They a...re absolutely the best. They are there for you and your child 100 per cent. They even care for you for a few weeks after the birth and answer any questions you have. A lot of people think you have to deliver at home, or even naturally. No, you don’t. Yes, some moms do, and I give them all my blessings. However, I didn’t.
I was thinking of having my first daughter at home, but during the contractions we went to the hospital (midwives have full rights at the hospital). The pain was more than I could handle, so I chose to have an epidural. The doctor on call then had to deliver my daughter (he was really good), but handed the baby directly to my midwife and then she took total care.
If you wish, I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions concerning midwives. Just contact the Cambridge Times and they can contact me.
I learned first hand that they are absolutely No. 1 in my book and I am very thankful for everything they did.
I am really glad that they were there for the birth of both my daughters. I really hope you consider going with a midwife for your next child, you won’t regret it.
Thank you again Lisa Morgan, midwife, for everything you did for us. My daughters are now six and three.
