Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) Hi,

Here's a posting of C.O.P.S. President Jennifer Thacker's speech at the Candlelight Vigil on May 13. It's a good representation of what C.O.P.S. is all about.
Thanks.

Many of my friends were not able to view my speech on May 13, 2009, or have asked for copies, so, thanks to John Gregory, I'm able to share it with you here. This was a special night for me and also a very sad night as I looked into the faces of the new families who have become members of the C.O.P.S. organization. I... was humbled and honored to have this opportunity and I hope my comments were meaningful and helpful to all those who are coping with a line of duty death of a law enforcement officer.

My daughter and I went to our first COPS Kids Camp this year. I am so thankful that we were able to go and meet many families who are survivors just like us. I was able to really laugh for the first time in six months and it felt so good to do it. Thank you COPS for all you do. Thank you Georgia COPS Chapter for being there for us!

Suggestion for grown-ups: vacation in Ouray, Colorado which is scenic SW Colorado. Plenty of hiking and the huge municipal hot springs pool, cool hotels, restaurants and entertainment too. Historic mining district, the famous Beaumont Hotel and friendly people. Switzerland of America, Jeep capital of the west.
