Capitol City Young Writers I met with author Eileen Goudge tonight who has agreed to be a feature author in an upcoming CCYW newsletter. A few weeks ago, I met author Robert J. Sawyer in Canada and I expect he'll be the feature author for December's newsletter.

Thanks. Feel free to share. The 5 annual meetings are held at Sacramento State University, not too far of a drive from Sonoma County. We are taping the meetings, but it will be awhile before we can edit them and have them available to members on the website.

Capitol City Young Writers November Meet the Author Event will feature Michele Scott and Linda Joy Singleton. Special guest is Amy Burkhardt, literary agent with Kimberley Cameron & Associates. In celebration of National Novel Writing Month, young writers are encouraged to bring first chapters or short stories to workshop. Michele's workshop will help to encourage the writers to finish those stories and get past mid-manuscript blues!

Capitol City Young Writers Writer's Digest has provided another scholarship opportunity to a CCYW member to "The Business of Getting Published" conference this weekend at The Marriott Marquis, Times Square, New York. Alda, a NY resident and CCYW youth advisory board member, will be attending this conference. Thank you, again, Jane Friedman!

Capitol City Young Writers CCYW's "Meet the Author" poetry event takes place tomorrow at Sacramento State University. Gain insight into the art and craft of poetry from our panel of guest speakers including Andy Jones, Indigo Moor, Jeff Knorr and Bob Stanley. Meeting will include a 1-hour poetry writing workshop. Meeting is professionally taped and edited and available on the website...one of these days (pending funding).
