Richard Sattler I think Captain Planet is a picture/icon of a male-centristic view. It creats a picture of a world which is leathaly damaged by the technological progress of mankind - and the strong man as Captain Planet rescues all - the cultural construction of the "super-man" who have to solve the problems of the male world (hierarchies, power relations, polution, destruction).
