Carbon Motors Corporation

Cory Willis

Cory Willis I would like to first offer a congrats to your company, and to the people with you for the vision and forethought for our police officers. I am the son of a former small town police chief. I was with him when he campaigned for a new squad car. It has since become the biggest disappointment, and been traded after onl...y 4 years of service. I look forward to seeing your products on scene with us!! p.s. it might be a good idea to let the fire industry in on this so we are prepared to extricate in case of a wreck

Carbon Motors Corporation Yes! It’s official! The City of Connersville has successfully pulled the old, shuttered 1.8 million square foot Visteon site out of bankruptcy court and is now in legal possession of what will become the Carbon Campus – and ultimately the police car capital of the world. The keys are in the Mayor’s hands...major mi...lestone achieved and here we come 2010! Thanks everyone for your support and have a safe one!

Hopefully your product will be something that all agencies will one day be able to actually afford regardless of size. Awesome product though!

Debby I have heard many times that everyone hired at Carbon Motors will have to have at least an Associates Degree, even on the assembly line. Is this true?

Debby here is a re-post for your convenience:

Mr. Li addressed this question in his hour-long interview with Mayor Urban which may be viewed here:

Basically, we are hiring the 'been there done that team' - those with exceptional experience. Similar to the teams that might help produce a jet fighter, tank, or a submarine - we are seeking the best and brightest......and those that are on a mission - not something they consider to be 'just a job'.

Jacob Refsland Will the e7 be the car to replace the crown vic?
Is it true that ford is stopping the production of the p71?
I've seen about 3 different paint styles for the e7, will there be more? how customizable will the car be for each department, such as things like light patterns, colors, decals, etc.

Dear Jacob - the Carbon E7 will be tailored specifically to each agency's needs including color, decals, and the like direct from the factory as Original Equipment. There will be over 50 different options on the vehicle so that the agency can choose the exact capabilities needed for their particular law enforcement operations.

Joe Krepp Will Carbon be utilizing local factories from Connersville and surrounding areas for special machining and equiptment ? such as dies, molds, and other fixtures that will be needed to not only transform the plant but equipt machines that will produce variuos parts of the car ? Or will you be set up for total in house operations from day one ?

CMC is primarily an assembler of modules, systems, and components that we will bring in from our suppliers (with possible a handful of suppliers collocating physically on the Carbon Campus with us). With Indiana having over 385 automotive suppliers we certainly intend to 'go shopping locally' as much as possible!

Thanks for responding, I was just wondering due to a few local machine shops that used to manufacture for visteon and if they would be considered even though they are not just making automotive parts .
