Nelson Chu - Kinetic Ventures - Managing Director
Nelson joined Kinetic Ventures, a venture firm involved in CleanTech, in early 1998. His investment activities focus on IT Infrastructure technologies (e.g., hardware systems and components, enterprise software), Int...ernet software, database-related applications, and other emerging software and hardware technologies. He has led and/or been actively involved with a broad range of Kinetic investments including BroadWare, VerticalOne, FoodBuy, Vertical Acuity, and Alereon. Prior to joining Kinetic Ventures, Nelson was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and prior to that he was a Development Manager with Oracle Corporation. Nelson received his MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, his MS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Stephen O'Day - Smith, Gambrell and Russell, LLP - Partner -Environmental Law & Sustainability Practice
Mr. O’Day has been heavily involved in environmental litigation, consultation and negotiations during his more than 29 years of practice. Mr. O’Day leads the sustainability Practice Group at SGR. The Group provides focused legal advice and representation to companies and entities regarding sustainability intitiatives, business issues, planning and litigation. He studied Civil Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and earned a B.A. degree, summa cum laude, in political science from Furman University in 1976. He received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1979, where he served as Chairman of the Harvard Environmental Law Society. Mr. O’Day has been named as a “Georgia Super Lawyer” in environmental law since the inception of that list, by Atlanta Magazine and Law & Politics Media, Inc. He has also been named by Chambers USA as one of “America’s Leading Lawyers for Business” in environmental law, again since the inception of that publication, and as a Best Environmental Lawyer in Corporate Counsel magazine. He has been awarded one of the Best Lawyers in America in Environmental Law.

Gil Rogers - Southern Environmental Law Center - Senior Attorney
Gil Rogers is a senior attorney with the Southern Environmental Law Center in Atlanta. SELC is a regional nonprofit legal organization dedicated to protecting natural resources and special places throughout the Southeast. Gil is a native of Birmingham, AL, and graduated Princeton University in 1998 with a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology and a certificate in environmental studies. He went on to Harvard Law School, where he graduated in 2002. Gil’s work at SELC focuses on water management and water quality issues in both Georgia and Alabama. In 2005, Gil was named Water Conservationist of the Year by the Georgia Wildlife Federation.

Lewis Perkins - The Mohawk Group - Director of Sustainable Strategy - A long-time advocate for “doing the right thing,” Lewis Perkins is a champion for sustainability – personally and professionally. Perkins works with companies both big and small on creating a programs and awareness for environmental and social initiatives. Over the past several years, Perkins led the "green" charge as director of sustainable strategies for The Mohawk Group, a leading carpet manufacturer and commercial division of Mohawk Industries, Perkins draws on this passion to help advance the company’s mission of environmental and social responsibility. He has also just been named to the advisory board for Sustainable Life Media where he joins an assembly of thought leaders who will help steer the sustainability content and direction of the Sustainable Brands annual conference. Perkins holds a Master of Business Administration in marketing and strategy with a focus on social responsibility from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from Washington & Lee University

Dennis Creech - Southface - Executive Director - Dennis Creech is a co-founder and executive director of Southface, a non-profit that addresses the southeast region’s need for research and education in energy policy, sustainable technologies, and applied building science. During his 31-year tenure as Southface’s executive director, the organization’s staff has grown to include more than 50 professionals who deliver education, research, advocacy and technical assistance programs that reach more than 40,000 individuals each year. Southface’s influence on regional and national policy is further reflected by its 200 million annual news media impressions. Named one the “100 Most Influential Georgians” by Georgia Trend magazine, Mr. Creech was nominated in 2009 for the prestigious Hanley Award. He is widely viewed as a thought leader on matters pertaining to regional and national energy and sustainability policy, and is a sought-after speaker who is frequently quoted in the media.

Lynette Young - Sustainable Atlanta - Executive Director - Lynnette Young is Executive Director of Sustainable Atlanta and is the President and CEO of Damespointe, Inc., a management consulting firm assisting in the development and implementation of strategic environmental sustainability programs and the effective governmental relations strategies. In 2007, Damespointe served as the lead consulting firm for the launch of Sustainable Atlanta, which addressed all of city government’s operations and internal polices. Since 2008, Damespointe has expanded its Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability practice to the corporate sector. Previously, Ms. Young served as the Chief Operating Officer of the City of Atlanta under Mayor Shirley Franklin for five years. In this role, she had responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of city government. Mayor Franklin charged Ms. Young with re-energizing and refocusing city staff while establishing best practices throughout city government. Ms. Young graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and completed the Certificate Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
