Carly Fleischmann A) I hate when that happens my moms friend just had a tragic accident happen and she had one of her two autistic sons pass away and people told her its for the best. It’s really sad the way society views the importance of life just because he was different does not mean he did not have any importance or any things to t...each us. We all have feelings even if we don’t often show it at times.

Carly Fleischmann Hi Carly, i have written to you before, My question for you is this, My children have often overheard people say to us, oh you poor dears, we dont feel that way we feel very lucky. How do you as one who has autism feel when you hear this? I would like to have an idea how our boys feel at these times, as they dont speak but thru sign.

Pam, I don't know you, but I have two nephews with autism and we made up some cards (think business cards) and I gain great pleasure in handing those cards out freely to people (you know, the "gawkers", etc.) I support you.

I was at the zoo today and there was a teenager getting excited about the animals (jumping, showing excitement, and vocalizing his excitement)....there were some gawkers , I wanted to shout at them, especially some of them with their "looks", but just smiled and watched the boy as he was having the time of his life watching the animals!

Hello Carly and hello to your parents too;~) I hope your doing better day by day. Mom and dad you are strong people and great parents. I am very involved here in my community with Autism, specifically adults with Aspergers Syndrome. I am on our local autism board of directors. I know the struggles you face day by day. Stay close to the Lord and He will see you through.

Amazing. Here I thought that if you live in Canada everything is taken care of by the Gov't and never thought that something like this was going on up there. I am BLESSED to have a wonderful school district that pays for all of my 10 year old daughters therapies including 2 hours of after school ABA therapy. She is making wonderful progress and I could NEVER have afforded to pay for this therapy out of pocket. Thanks for sharing this article!!! YOU ROCK CARLY!!!!
