Carmen Hernandez for Barstow City Council Save the date Sept. 9 at Barstow Senior Center. Town Hall Meeting on status of new hospital. Starts at 6pm come early and email questions to Chamber by 9/4. My preference is you show up and ask your question not having to submit prior. That is not a Town Hall meeting!!!!

It's not a Town Hall meeting. It's never been called a Town Hall Meeting. It is an informational meeting put on the Chamber, with a presentation by Hospital CEO Michael Stewart. It starts at 6:30pm...and no one will be admitted after 6:45. After the presentation, the submitted questions will be answered, with a Q & A session from the audience if ... See Morethere's time. And there are some guidelines. No questions will be answered about the current hospital, or current billing situations. This is not a protest meeting or debate of any kind. Simply information for the public, and answers to the questions that were submitted by the deadline of Friday Sept. 4th at Noon. Send them to bacc@barstowchamber.com or fax them to 256-7675.

To my knowledge, it has never been called by the Chamber or the hospital a "Public Forum" or a "Town Hall Meeting". I'll check the flyer when I get to work in the morning and double check. Check our homepage and you'll see what was submitted to the Desert Dispatch. I'll let you know Carmen.

Thank you Cory, I appreciate your acknowledging your mistake that it is not an informational meeting but a Public Forum as is noted in the Chamber's flyer.

Glad I could straighten that part out, Carmen...but regardless of what they call it...questions must be turned in to the Chamber by this Friday. And only if there's time after the presentation and the advance questions will the public be able to ask extra questions. I know how passionate you are about this subject. I hope this program helps everyone understand what's actually happening with the new hospital! The important thing is that it gets built, and on time!
