Officials with the Carolina Raptor Center are asking the public to be on the lookout for a rare bird that escaped from the center Thursday morning.
Nicki Dardinger We had eyes on our eagle until 9:45 this morning, when she took off, and we lost sight of her. We could use the community's help to look for the eagle (we are confident she is still in the Nature Preserve). Please come to CRC's visitor center, or call 704.875.6521 x.107 if you are able to look for her. Bring binoculars and dress to walk in the woods!

HUNTERSVILLE – The Charlotte-area public is being asked to be on the lookout for a rare Bateleur eagle which escaped Thursday morning from Carolina Raptor Center in Latta Plantation Nature Preserve in northwestern Mecklenburg County.
