
So often our older cats are overlooked or dismissed as a possibility just because of their age. Now I will admit, lately we've had a lot of people in who recently lost an older cat and do not want to go through that again any time soon...

Outside it's been cool, with a few days of grey, rainy and blah. Inside it's been bright and sunny with periods of cuteness. I've been taking the kittens out one by one to get photos of them. It's useless trying to bring them out in groups because all they do is chase each other...

Our first Treat 'n Treat supply drive seems to be a small success. We put in our newsletter that anyone who 'treated' us to some supply off our wish list could 'treat' themselves from our treat bucket...

There's lots of stuff falling around here. The leaves from the walnut trees are positively showering the shelter, and even visitors. And the walnuts are everywhere! With so many on the ground the squirrels are busier than ever, and it's driving some of the cats a little crazy...

After months of preparations, especially in the last few weeks, our annual Hair Ball is finally done. We had over 160 guests and volunteers and everyone said they had a great time! It could not have happened without the help of some great volunteers and supporters...

Just one week to go to our annual Hair Ball! The shop is a mess, but a fun mess, what with all the things we're getting together for the event. We've been stuffing goodie bags, cataloging auction items, organizing, putting together decorations .... thank goodness for volunteers...

Actually, it's lunch with Spice, one of the many benefits I get working at C.A.T. She's one of our oldest residents, over 18 years old. Almost every day she gets to come out of her room and get a special treat. Thing is, she's got us well trained...

They come and go without stopping in to say 'hello', and they leave little gifts for us. Cat food, blankets, used newspapers, aluminum cans, supplies. Sometimes I see them drive up, drop their stuff, and drive off without even a chance to wave to them...
