Finally found a way to subscibe to catholicdigest from Nigeria, received my first copy on the 30th of Oct and my joy knew no bounds. I wasn't disappointed one bit. I believe American catholics are priviledged. It took two yrs of fantasizing about the subscription before it became a reality. I look forward to the nove...mber edition. To all the folks who make catholicdigest happen, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND GOD BLESS YOU.Read More

Catholic Digest Did your teen read Twilight?

tephenie Meyer, a 35-year-old mother of three, does not read vampire novels. She says she “just knows” she is “too much of a wuss for Stephen King’s books,” and she’s “waaay too chicken to read horror.” She also happens to be the author of a hugely popular young adult series called Twilight... ...

Yes, I have read the entire series. My teens recommended the books to me, and they seem to take the stories in stride. It is fictional and fun. Surprisingly, one of the themes discussed is abstinence until marriage. It is a great way to pique your child's interest in reading. Better yet, why don't you both read and discuss the books. Maybe you can have a mother-daughter movie date night when the movie comes out. You will enjoy, too! Good clean fun!

Besides the homily and the inner-peace when attending mass, I love the hymn so much. My parish church gives the hymns a contemporary flavor. This encourage more young people to attend mass and undeniably, Jesus is working through music.

Can't really sleep when in despair. What I need is time to heal the wounds. Support from family and friends also help a great deal.
