Kao Kalia Yang will be visiting the Cedar Falls Public Library on Monday, October 12th from 4:30 to 5:30.
Yang, author of the book "The Latehomecomer", will discuss how thirty years ago, her parents began their life together by fleeing from Pathet Lao soldiers, who were intent on wiping out the Hmong people in Laos.
Ya...ng speaks about her family’s journey through refugee camps in Thailand to their arrival in St. Paul, Minnesota and their acculturation into American society.

The Abraham Lincoln/Six Flags Trip is occurring on June 20th. The is a limit of 40 individuals who can attend the trip. The trip is opened to students and their kids. However, it is on a first come first serve basis.In addition, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE OF COVERING THE COST OF THE MEALS AND ADMISS...ION TO THE PARK FOR THE CHILD. For in house purposes there is a limit of 10 kids total that can come.
