Cedar House Inn and Yurts Dahlonega's Old Fashioned Christmas is a month-long celebration set into motion on Friday, November 27, 2009 with the Lighting of the Square. A real home-town parade officially bringing Santa to town occurs on Saturday, December 5th. Plenty of other festive holiday events continue almost daily throughout December until after New Year’s.
Cedar House Inn and Yurts Fall foliage has just about peaked in the area. We have vacancies for tomorrow night (Saturday) so come and see the beautiful Fall colors at their finest.

Saturday features The Gypsy Hicks and Sunday features Morgan Musselwhite and the ESTU Bluegrass Band. The Gypsy Hicks play 1930's swing in the style of the Hot Club of Paris made famous by... legendary guitarist Django Reinhart. With violin, accordion, banjo, and guitars, the Gypsy Hicks re-create the sound of French bistros and cabarets where this blend of musette, gitane, and "le jazz hot" originated. True to their name, the trio sifts in a dash of roots Americana such as ragtime, blues, and novelty songs.

Cedar House Inn and Yurts We have mentioned on our web site, blog and other places that we use a clothesline to dry guestroom bed and bath linens versus using a regular clothes dryer. The linens smell better, last longer and we conserve resources by using the sunshine. Today I read that the North Carolina Senate rejected clotheslines by killing a bill guaranteeing a "right to dry" clothes outside.
