Chad Campbell
Hi everyone,
We now have less than one year to go until the election, and today I’m going to begin a fundraising push before the end of the year reporting deadline. This deadline is a critical one as it includes all donations for 2009, so I have set a goal of raising another $10,000 in the last 48 days of the year to ...continue building the campaign’s amazing momentum. In order to achieve this, I will need everyone’s continued support.
And it’s now even easier to donate, as we are taking online donations at the website. So, with that in mind, I would like to ask 2 things of you today:
1. If you haven’t done so yet, will you please visit my website at www.chadcampbell.org and make a contribution to the campaign?
Any amount will be very appreciated - $20, $100, $200, or the maximum amount of $410 - whatever you can donate will help out immensely! You can even donate some now and some later if you’d like.
You can also mail checks to: Committee to Re-elect Chad Campbell, 537 E. Willetta Street, Unit 6, Phoenix, AZ.
2. Additionally, please take a couple of minutes to forward this request to others who are looking for common sense leadership in our state government and invite them to join the team as well.
During this fiscal crisis, me and my Democratic colleagues have continually offered a vision for Arizona that is based on common sense instead of extremism. We even took the unprecedented steps of offering our own budget solutions to the majority party. Budget solutions that would have actually lowered taxes for the average Arizonan, closed tax loopholes for special interests, created jobs throughout our state, balanced the budget, and protected schools and public safety programs.
Well, I can assure you as the Democratic Whip for the House that with your support I will continue to push for these measures again next year. I also assure you that if we all work together in 2010, we will make the changes in Arizona which will ensure common sense solutions can no longer be dismissed.
I am blessed to have such a great network of friends, colleagues, and peers who have continually supported my efforts. I couldn’t do it without each and every one of you. So, I hope you will once again consider helping the campaign so we can get Arizona back on track.
As always, thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Representative Chad Campbell

Sobering article in today's Arizona Republic:
http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic /news/articles/2009/01/04/20090104budget 01040.html#reply16693719
This is exactly why Governor Napolitano and we in the Democratic leadership were calling for a special session...and Republican Treasurer Dean Martin agrees with this ass...essment, saying in the article that "The situation might not be so dire if lawmakers had held a special session last month to start chipping away at the deficit."
Unfortunately, the Republican legislative leadership balked at a special session and now important programs and services (ranging from money for schools to shared revenues for cities that pay for police and fire protection) are in serious jeopardy.
