There were great aromatics in the whites, and fantastic color and depth in the reds, which still have another year in barrel to mature. Everyone agreed that the page has turned at... In a search for a response to the annual question of what to serve with the bird, the wine panel found that the Thanksgiving wine issue has no right answer, but many excellent solutions.

Charles Krug Winery just racked out of barrel our 2007 Generations Bordeaux Blend after two full years in New French Oak. It will be ready for bottling on Wednesday, and then bottle aged for 12 months prior to release. The 2007 Gen has exciting and expressive red fruit with a lot of aging potential. It should be fun to see how it evolves in the bottle. - Winemaker - DG

Charles Krug Winery Harvest is complete! A hands on year in the vineyard and hands off in the cellar. Vines weren't pushed for high sugars because flavor & color developed early. We fermented our red wines with cooler temperatures to preserve the fruit and vineyard characters. Barrels Dave selected on his trip to France last year will be ...our "secret weapon" for perfect integration of flavor, color and finish of this wine vintage. - PMJr

Charles Krug Winery We are just finishing up picking our Yountville Cabernet. Great flavors this year, despite the rain we are still getting sugars in the 25 range, with moderate acids. An outstanding year for whites, and a great year for all of our Estate Yountville Cabernet vineyards. Winemaker -DG
