im in default on my student loans for ten years; prior to which, i made three years of payments; and after which, i had at least one of my tax returns seized as an offset. The Dept. has no record of payment and refuses to budge on its all or nothing demands. student debt loan is america's new slavery, america's debtor prison, a life-long ball and chain come hell or high water.... shameful!!!!!!

Agree with you John. I have years of student loans too. I refuse to pay them. I don't plan to get a job either so I have no assets to be confiscated. I received my degree but I have no intention on ever paying for it unless I am wealthy one day. That's what I pay taxes for!
