Eaton Conservation District We are currently recruiting volunteers for the Thornapple River Clean-up September 19th and Charlotte River Conservation Day October 3rd. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, lunch, and have a great time helping our local rivers!

Eaton Conservation District Preregistration is required and there is $15.00 fee per person. Pesticide credits can not be given for attending the Renewable Energy Program and Tour. But we will have a very good lunch!

On Thursday September 10th, there will be speakers in the morning session covering grants for Renewable Energy (RE) Systems for farms..., tax credits for farms, small business and home owners and other economics, and to explain the different types of RE systems and how well each works in this area. Tour participants are encouraged to bring photos of their building (s) and a copy of their last 12 months of electrical bills to help determine how size a feasible renewable energy system. There will be plenty of time to ask questions in the morning and through out the day.

Lunch will be provided and then a bus tour of working solar and wind systems in the area.

Eaton Conservation District The Annual River Conservation Day is held the first Sat in October at Bennett Park in Charlotte. Activities include trash pick-up, storm drain stenciling, woody debris removal from river, tree and shrub planting and MORE! Some volunteers will work at other sites near Charlotte that need it. This years event will be October 3rd, 2009.

Eaton Conservation District 2009 Fall Tree Sale

The Eaton Conservation District will be offering our second tree sale on Sunday, September 27th, 11AM - 3PM at the General Motors Lansing Delta Township Plant as part of their annual car show. Trees will be gallon potted Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, and White pine. Trees are priced at $6 each.... Limited Quantities available. Books and other supplies will be available for sale.

We will be taking pre-orders for bulk orders in quantities of 15 and above. Pre-order deadline Sep 17th, 2009.
At event, trees will be sold without a minimum quantity, $6 each + tax.

GM Lansing Regional Manufacturing will host their 4th Annual "Anything on Wheels" Show. The event will be on Sunday, September 27th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of GM's Lansing Delta Township Assembly at 8175 Millett Highway. The cost is $10 to show a vehicle, tractor, motorcycle, bike collection....or other "wheeled item" and registrants will receive a bronze collector medallion while supplies last. Come, enjoy a good show, food and music.To pre-register for the show call Lyle Birchman at 517-721-3008 or lyle.birchman@gm.com or register the day of the event.
