Congratulations to the CIS robotics team. The CIS robotics team traveled to Lynchburg to compete in the regional First Lego Tournament. The team achieved a final score that earned them 5th place in a field of 32 teams. All of the cadets were excited when it was announced that HMA students won the “Judges award” for ex...ceptional effort and performance of a new team. It was also noted that the team’s robot was recognized as the best design. Team members had to design a navigation system that counts the rotation cycles of the wheels on the robot. In addition, they used light sensors to help the robot navigate several obstacles and to accomplish the required tasks.
A special thanks to Reverend Mike Pugh the team's instructor and coach.

Hargrave Military Academy Three years ago the cadets at Hargrave recorded messages on donated My-Huggie Teddy Bears to the students at Shoemaker High School. the feeder school for Ft. Hood, Tx. It was an exciting venture. So when we heard about the shootings at Ft. Hood, we wanted to let the students of Shoemaker know that we remember them an...d we still care. During advisees this morning, students wrote messages on post cards letting the students know again, they are still in our thoughts and prayers. The post cards will be sent out on Monday.
