Hargrave Military Academy IT'S THANKSGIVING BREAK!!! These words echoed though the halls today as the last bell for classes rang. Happy students and parents loaded their cadets in their cars and are headed home for a much deserved break. TAC's gave students last minute instructs to be smart and stay safe, and all students had big smiles! See yo...u all in nine days, and we are thankful to parents for sharing your sons with us. God's Blessings to all.

Hargrave Military Academy As our Cadets gathered for our annual Thanksgiving dinner excitement was in the air. Not only did the students enjoy fellowship with each other, but faculty and staff members joined them as well. The foods was wonderful and of course the main conversation centered on the Thanksgiving break that will begin today.

Hargrave Military Academy Congratulations to the CIS robotics team. The CIS robotics team traveled to Lynchburg to compete in the regional First Lego Tournament. The team achieved a final score that earned them 5th place in a field of 32 teams. All of the cadets were excited when it was announced that HMA students won the “Judges award” for ex...ceptional effort and performance of a new team. It was also noted that the team’s robot was recognized as the best design. Team members had to design a navigation system that counts the rotation cycles of the wheels on the robot. In addition, they used light sensors to help the robot navigate several obstacles and to accomplish the required tasks.
A special thanks to Reverend Mike Pugh the team's instructor and coach.

Hargrave Military Academy Three years ago the cadets at Hargrave recorded messages on donated My-Huggie Teddy Bears to the students at Shoemaker High School. the feeder school for Ft. Hood, Tx. It was an exciting venture. So when we heard about the shootings at Ft. Hood, we wanted to let the students of Shoemaker know that we remember them an...d we still care. During advisees this morning, students wrote messages on post cards letting the students know again, they are still in our thoughts and prayers. The post cards will be sent out on Monday.

Hargrave Military Academy It was a special welcome for Klayton Saunders, who is a member of the Seminole Indian Tribe in Florida. Since Klayton knew he would have to get the standard Hargrave hair as part of becoming a cadet, he decided to donate his "locks" to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hai...rpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Way to go Klayton!!
