Hawk Circle Wilderness Education

Hawk Circle Wilderness Education Today is a good day for a sweatlodge ceremony.... for veterans and anyone needing healing and renewal. Coed. Newly built lodge. Big fire. Food.... Come if you can, and sorry for the late notice. We may be doing another on Veteran's Day, next month, too....

Hawk Circle Wilderness Education

Hawk Circle Wilderness Education It would be hard to find an animal
more equipped to survive than the
wolverine. Sharp teeth and claws.
Comfortable fur down to minus
60ºF. Keen hearing. Strong sense
of smell. Endurance that can go
for miles through some of the most
rugged terrain on the face of the
earth. And a temper that even
grizzlies and... wolves will avoid if
possible.
We can learn from this animal,
the way the native people’s did for
centuries, using it’s secrets to help
us in our own quest for survival, to
thrive and succeed.
In this course, we will learn
powerful principles of shelter,
fire, food & navigation, and find
our way in the heart of nature.
We will discover how the
philosophy of the wilderness can be
applied to our modern lives, and
how to live with less fear because
we can trust our senses, and our
skills, to keep us safe.
Wolverine Survival is about
finding that wild place inside us
that waits to be let off the leash, to
run free, even if just for a weekend,
and come back refreshed and
renewed from our contact with the
natural world. Hawk Circle is
the perfect place to rediscover these
ancient skills and learn to move
through life with grace and ease.
Participants will make fire
without matches, build a shelter to
stay warm in any weather, move
silently and easily even through
rough terrain, cook food over an
open fire, track animals and learn
wild edible and useful plants and
trees, all in a supportive, nurturing
environment that will change the
way you see the natural world
forever.

Hawk Circle Wilderness Education For me, hunting is both
exhilarating, and bittersweet. On
the one hand, matching wits with
one of nature’s most aware,
amazing and beautiful animals like
the deer is rewarding, giving my
family meat and clothing to last a
year or more. On the other hand,
I am also the spiritual gatekeeper
for this creature, helping... him or her
to pass from this world to the next,
with honor, love and dignity.
The Sacred Hunt is about
learning to handle that balance of
power and respect, as well as teach
you the basics of hunting from this
perspective. I will show you first
hand how to scout an area for deer,
including tracking, camouflage,
scent issues and feeding areas. We
will learn about gear, clothing, tree
stands and more, both from the
native and modern hunter’s point
of view. We will sit out in the field
for an afternoon and morning
hunt, to understand the hunter’s
mind more fully, and help you
become familiar and comfortable
with the different parts of the hunt.
Most importantly of all, we will do
ceremony to prepare you to enter
the forest in a sacred manner,
asking for the gift of life. Prayer
ties, personal ceremony and the
cleansing power of the sweatlodge
will be shared in this powerful
weekend intensive.
If you are looking for a way to
begin the hunter’s journey, one that
is respectful, honorable and in
balance with the earth, this course
can help you on your path. The
way of the hunter will change you
forever.

It's easy to get inspired. I mean, anyone can catch the inspiration bug, by reading something, or watching something or hearing someone share a story. It's staying inspired that is tough. Inspiration is a tricky thing, because it is elusive. It can evaporate in the face of reality...
