I would just like to say thank you to Mr. Chet Culver. I work for the Department of Corrections. I have tried for years to get hired on by this department and I finally did June of 2008. I thought "what a great career". I am not only preparing for my retirement (IPERS), but doing something I love to do, and know is imp...ortant. However, in as little as a few months it looks as though I will be one of the first to be laid off due to Mr. Chet Culver calling for a 10% reduction of costs. In days my world has turned around. I see you took a 10% cut in pay. I wish I had that option. Now I (and 25-35 of my co-workers) will be applying for lower paying jobs with little benefits compared to the Dept of Corrections. Not to mention the fact that there are very few jobs (and fewer careers) that are even open for hire. Thank you, Chet Culver. You definitely have my vote again.Read More

F Allan Storning Hey Chet - good to see you on here. Ironic - Iwas married to a girl from Des Moines - if it had worked out - you would have had a local Hokie buddy. Speaking of which - the Hokies are looking good . . . . Impressive resume you've built for yourself. Hope all is well.

B-CC, class of '78. Amazing to see how your father's spirit and strength is coming out in this fine young man that his son has become! Knowing all the Culver clan from those Chevy Chase days, I am sure you wear his cloak with pride ... though too humble to admit you are so much like him, with the warm heart of your m...other mixed in.

Lisa Viall Houldsworth Hello Chet, I enjoyed your fathers eulogy immensely. Hearing his story, and being a fellow New Englander, it sounds like your Dad and Ted Kennedy were 2 of a kind! Scott asked me why I was crying at one point, of course I was crying with hysteria, your father is a funny man and a great story teller. What stories you must have heard. Best wishes always.
