Chicago Community Ventures (CCV) has created and retained 5,000 jobs in the greater Chicago area.
CCV has also leveraged over $200 million in resources to our clients to date.
We believe that small businesses are the foundation of a community and by helping to build businesses, we are helping to build communities.
With the help of our friends and partners, CCV offers counseling and financial services at little or no cost to small, under-resourced companies in three target markets that have traditionally lacked access to capital and resources needed to grow their companies:
-- Women-owned enterprises
-- Minority-owned enterprises
-- Businesses in Chicago's low and moderate income (LMI) areas.
Women- and minority-owned firms are the fastest growing segments of our economy but only receive 14% of all Small Business Association (SBA) loan dollars and leverage half as much as their counterparts in owner equity respectively.
At the same time, small businesses are also the greatest source of net new employment in inner cities - comprising more than 99% of establishments and 80% of total employment.
CCV operates under a philosophy of "guidance, access and growth". Our hands-on technical assistance provides the guidance to properly access and manage capital, putting business on the path to growth. These companies, in turn, become assets to their communities.
