We will meet as usual from 6-8pm, but use that time to play games, interact with each other, socialize, and really just end the year in a fun way!!! All students, volunteers, and staff have the opportunity to bring in food, ca...ndy, and treats to share with others in the program.

Hello Everyone! The Holiday Season is upon us, which means that it's a time to give and celebrate! One of our volunteer tutor/mentors at Cabrini Connections, Tutor/Mentor Connection has organized a bar night this Friday, December 4th at Fizz Bar, 3220 N. Lincoln Ave., just off of Lincoln and Belmont (Paulina stop off t...he Brown line). It's $40 for all you can drink beer, wine, well drinks, and appetizers and it goes to benefit tutoring and mentoring!. Come join us at 8pm for a night of merriment and generosity!
Also, the photo is a graphic created by one of our students in our tech club. Your donation to this event benefits helping kids learn and explore their talents such as creating awesome computer graphics like the one above.

* Network with nonprofit leaders from across Chicago (list of attendees)
* Discove...r strategies for application in your own student group and community
* Share understanding of how tutor/mentor programs are a key component of education reform, workforce development, violence prevention, and civic engagement.
The Tutor/Mentor Connection shares it's own ideas about tutoring and mentoring as a workforce development strategy in a Tutor/Mentor Institute web site. It also shares ideas of more than 1500 other organizations in the library on the T/MC web site. As we approach each conference we invite people who we link to on these web sites to come together to share their own knowledge, and to find ways to help expand the resources to support all volunteer-based tutoring/mentoring programs in Chicago and other cities, not just a few high profile programs.
Each conference offers workshops on planning, evaluation, recruitment and training, marketing and development, as well as specific topics related to tutoring and mentoring youth at different age ranges.
The November Conference takes place shortly after the start of each school year when programs have recruited and placed students and volunteers. The focus of this conference is on teaching volunteers to be more effective tutors and mentors and fostering the leadership skills necessary to help programs grow. Since this conference is just before the year end holiday's, it's goal is also to make potential donors more aware of tutor/mentor programs, so that when they choose to make a year-end donation, more tutor/mentor programs benefit from these gifts.
For more details and to register, visit http:// www.tutormentorconference.org/ or call 312-492-9614. Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and all conference materials.
