On Oct. 8, 10 and 11, families at Chicago Children's Museum had a chance to work with puppet designer David Candelaria to create their own moving creature. David has created puppets of all shapes and sizes for both the stage and screen. His most recent project was building armatures- the metal, wire or wooden framework... that supports the puppets and their movements- for the characters in the stop-motion film Coraline. In these puppet workshops at the museum, David demonstrated how to manipulate his 9 feet tall robot puppet and assisted families in creating their own large-scale characters. Check out our latest photo album to see the puppets come to life.Read More
