Fiesta del Sol

Pilsen Neighbors Community Council is getting ready for another Fiesta del Sol ! 2010 will marks 2 important historical events—both the 200 anniversary of Mexico’s Independence and the 100th anniversary of its Revolution.

We are excited to welcome this celebration and ask that you join us in next... year's Fiesta del Sol!

Here's how you can help:

Keeping Healthy Campaign: For students pursuing an education in health, or anyone who simply wants to aid the community in gaining a better understanding of keeping healthy.

Public Relations and Media: You can help write press releases, aid in developing media strategies, design materials and coordinate interviews.

Art Pavilion: Are you an artist? Share your talent with us. Whether you paint, or work with arts and crafts. During Fiesta del Sol, you can teach others how to create wonderful things!

Children’s Area: Do you love working with children? Help with our annual book drive! Do you like playing games with children or telling stories? If so, this is the committee for you.

Entertainment: Do you play for a local band or know about a great group? Fiesta del Sol opens the doors for local talent.

College Fair: Every year, Fiesta del Sol brings out college and university reps to give high school seniors information on higher education. If you want to help support this or have other ideas, let us know.

Sports Tournaments: During Fiesta del Sol, children participate in what is called Copa del Sol and a basketball tournament.
