Amendment #1 to HB 607 is not a “clean up” bill. This bill eliminates prevention measures, includes provisions to expand to non-residents and Scratch-off tickets, and makes it easier to start the program without approval from the Department of Justice.

Jewish Council on Urban Affairs Groups supporting comprehensive immigration reform deliver a blank appointment book to U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk, in the hopes that he'll put a meeting on his calendar. Fifty constituents and friends gathered to ask Kirk to set a date to meet.. Kirk has been refusing to meet with constituents on this issue since June, despite repeated phone calls, letters and four previous vigils at his office.

Demonstrating their passion for JCUA's vital work in the community, a group of donors has come together to create ACHSHAV. It's a short-term challenge grant campaign, designed to raise immediate funding for JCUA, filling a hole caused by the sagging U.S. economy.
