Children Today’s next installment of ghostly going ons is taking place in the historic heart of Coventry, St Mary’s Guildhall has been one of the city’s premier venues for nearly 700 years, hosting wealthy merchants, Kings, Queens and Civic Heads from the early 14th Century to present day.

The Guild was built in the 134...0s and soon became the centre for the city’s government. This versatile building was used as a temporary prison for Mary, Queen of Scots, Shakespeare was thought to have performed his plays here and George Elliot based scenes in her novels on the Guildhall’s historic room. It is inevitable that during this long and rich history, emotions and incidents have left their mark and supernatural phenomena have been reported over the years.

So who knows who you might bump into! For your chance to find out please contact Emma Fawcett on 07912 308578 or emma@childrentoday.org.uk.

Imagine taking a journey back through time to the turn of the 20th century, an era of elegance, sophistication, magic and mystery. The early 1900's was a time where the promise of new wonders lay around every corner and freak shows vied with temperance movements for the attention of a wide eyed public.

Jack the Ripper's... reign of terror in London's East End had just come to an end and the legendary Harry Houdini was touring the theatres and playhouses of England. Sherlock Holmes was thrilling the readers of the Strand magazine and the cursed tomb of Tutankhamen had only just been discovered. In the ball rooms and the drawing rooms of the rich and well-to-do; magicians, illusionists, mind readers and mediums were considered the entertainment of choice.

On Friday 27th November, you can be transported back in time and witness a little of this magical time at Episode Hotel in Leamington Spa.

Prepare to be amazed as David Taylor, member of the world famous Magic Circle and the 2009 British Isles Close-up Magician of the Year presents his unique blend of live magic and illusion. Watch as David recreates the mystique of classic parlour magic and mystery during an Evening of Wonder.

You will marvel at David's incredible ability to control, manipulate and predict all manner of outcomes while performing his unique blend of period conjuring, mind control and bizarre illusion combined with a mix of the unfamiliar, the amazing and the inexplicable.

An Evening of Wonder is an evening of entertainment comprising of three strikingly different episodes of magic and mystery. Episode one is an interactive demonstration of classic ‘sleight of hand’ conjuring that’s scripted to amaze. Episode two is a scintillating mental magic session that will leave you mystified and dumbfounded while Episode three is filled with the Bizarre and an ending isn’t for the faint-hearted!

With live music between each episode, don’t miss this limited opportunity to witness the magic and illusion of David Taylor, the Victorian Magician.

This amazing evening is being held in aid of the Children Today Charitable Trust who provide grants for specialised equipment for local disabled children. Regional Fundraising Manager, Emma Fawcett said: “David Taylor and Episode Hotel are valued supporters and friends of Children Today. The full proceeds of the evening will be donated to the charity which will make a real difference to disabled children and young people by providing vital, life-changing equipment."

Tickets are only £10 per person to see this marvellous show and are strictly limited so get yours before you miss your opportunity to experience the history of mystery.

Tickets are available from the hotel or the Children Today fundraising team on 07912 308576 or emma@childrentoday.org.uk visit our website www.childrentoday.org.uk
