At the New York Hall of Science in Flushing, Queens, Tran Hennessy, 9, can launch his rocket ship and be off on a journey around the universe -- all with the power of his putt.

Kids in Manhattan have Central Park. Brooklynites have Prospect Park. In the Morrisania neighborhood of the Bronx, teens have only the streets to hang out.

Interested new members will learn about the history & purpose of Children's PressLine, the roles of CPL Reporter/Editors, receive training in the skills of CPL Reporter/Editors, learn how to right good interview questions & perform a peer-to-peer interview or participate in a round table discussion...

The entire training is peer-led & involves group work with leadership skills. And pizza!

Set loose Saturday on their first assignment as news reporters, Destiny Taylor, Alex Tebo and Whitman Wilcox found lots of sources reluctant to answer their questions.

Every youth needs a springboard for a good education. Sometimes getting there, though, is the hard part.
