China Study Abroad at 11:39pm June 28
awww...our pleasure mate! It's always hard to have a birthday away from home so we're glad you had a good one! Nothing like being sung Happy Birthday in the middle of a packed restaurant to make you feel special!

Raffy Gutierrez Does anybody know if the Shaolin Temple offers Mandarin classes besides its martial arts lessons?

Angelina Hello there! Is there anyone doing an internship under this program?

This week in China, I... - Discovered Mangosteens - very, very, very good for you and very delicious. Win win! - Attended a bar opening and found a bunch of Aussies there. Typical. - Showed three Beijingers a new place to eat - possibly one of the proudest days of my China life yet...

Hey everyone, I'm signing up to go to Tsinghua University on a Mandarin Course from September til June although want to know a bit more info about the program and CSA in general from first hand experience. I'm slightly concerned about signing up to something without knowing anyone who's done it before and can give me an objective take on their time spent with CSA. If anyone wants to contact me to tell me a bit about what happened to them and how their Mandarin progressed I'd be really incredibly grateful.
If nobody replies to this I will be randomly selecting and messaging fans from here, picking on them to get information and I doubt anyone will appreciate that.
Thank you!
Sarah x

Ok so I will admit, sometimes (and only sometimes), Beijing life can get the better of you. The last few weeks have seen some really hot days and to know that I don't have a beach just down the road to escape to, makes me a little homesick...

Andy Thompson Is anyone currently in Shanghai? I am finishing my Business Economics degree here at UC Santa Barbara and am considering coming to study Mandarin right afterwards. I feel Shanghai would be the best fit as it is an economic center. Any advice or information about the program in Shanghai?

Tran Tuan Linh Hi, I am considering to study chinese for a short term ( about 2 months) and I 'd like to study in Kunming. In addition, I am wondering whether or not there is any difference between studying in Kunming with other cities? can anyone helps me with this?

Victoria which universities offer exceptions for the age limit? and could I also volunteer while I'm studying if I plan to do a four week study?

Is it possible to apply for a beijing universaty, do a Autumn course, remain in china, do a winter course, etc, for a cycle of about 2-3 years, and then get a teaching job?
I'm not massively rich so I don't want to keep returning home every few weeks

Hi, I'm considering learning Chinese and teaching English and wondered what's the best experience in terms of accomodation and location. Is it better to live in an appartment, hotel or homestay etc. Both in terms of how much you learn and the fun of the experience you gain?
Thanks,
Tom

Left the office and started walking home. Passed a man selling berries. Contemplated buying other unidentified fruit to the left of strawberries but thought it best to play it safe and stick to what I know...

As I thought about what to write this week, several thoughts came to mind, but none were broad enough to write an entire blog about. So, I've decided just to provide a few sentences about several different topics. 1. Last week the CSA group went to the Shanghai zoo...

Sam Hey guys! I'm looking for a program in Shanghai to learn Mandarin this fall. I am taking a semester off from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. to further my Mandarin language skills without doing the study abroad option. So, I'm looking for a program on my own to join. Do you recommend CSA? If yes, which program in Shanghai? What is the age range of students? Pros? Cons? Fill me in:) Thank you! You may message me on facebook!

Last Saturday saw CSA students and staff take a trip to the amazing Summer Palace, one of Beijing’s major tourist attractions. It doesn't take long after entering the palace to realise why so many people flock to see it. It is incredible...

Bob Johnson I was pleased to read in the Open Doors Report (IIE) that China is one of the fastest growing study abroad destinations. If anyone has any faculty-led programs, summer, or other short-term programs they'd like to spread the word about, visit http://www.facultyled.com and list them for free.
