Christopher Rice Hope everyone is having a safe and happy new year! Just three months until THE MOONLIT EARTH is out and you'll be seeing many additions to this page as we approach publication date. In other news, I just found out I'll be moderating a panel at the Left Coast Crime Conference here in L.A. at the beginning of March. Pane...lists will include my good friend Gregg Hurwitz and one of my personal favorites, Meg Gardiner, author of the Evan Delaney novels. Hope some of you SoCal residents can come out and see us. More information on the conference here: http://www.leftcoastcrime.org/2010/index.htm

That place is awesome. I once visited the place when I was really young. I always enjoy real locations in Anne's as well as your books. It is nice to visit the place and picture the scenes while you there.

Christopher Rice And another blurb for THE MOONLIT EARTH, this one from Robert Crais, one of the titans of the thriller genre. "Christopher Rice shows his guns by weaving family secrets, breakneck plotting and true-to-life characters into a thriller of unusual depth. THE MOONLIT EARTH is intense, moving, and rich in ways that promise a stellar career. Well done!"

Christopher Rice Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. My number one reason for gratitude this A.M. My first "blurb" for THE MOONLIT EARTH has come in. This one from best-selling thriller writer Tami Hoag. She writes: "Christopher Rice delivers it all: action, suspense and international intrigue. THE MOONLIT EARTH is a timely and tautly told tale."

Words cannot even describe how excited I am for the new book! Funny thing, just the other day I was talking with a friend of mine about how I was "hoping" you would publish another book soon. - At any rate, have a wonderful holiday season! I'll look forward to reading more about THE MOONLIT EARTH as the pre-release hype progresses.

News flash: The current release date for THE MOONLIT EARTH is April 6. It will be followed by a national tour. I'll post the cities and dates as soon a...s I have them. A Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Christopher Rice I don't usually like to "go negative" on my fan page but this one has got me in a lather. A gay teenager was decapitated and burned in Puerto Rico a few days ago. One of the police investigators commented that the young man deserved what he got because of the lifestyle he was leading. To that I say, should the rest of ...us just yawn and go about our business the next time a cop is shot in the line of duty. I mean, the cop sort of deserved what he got, right? Because of the lifestyle he was reading.

Over the weekend the brutalized body of gay teen George Steven Lopez Mercado was found by the side of a road in Puerto Rico. The police investigator suggested that he deserved what he got because of the "type of lifestyle" he was leading.

Christopher Rice It's no secret that I'm stronly opposed to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." You just need to read my last novel, BLIND FALL, to find out why. Here's an insightful essay from a close friend of mine that brings the issue into even greater clarity. Hope you all can take the time to read it.

The military continues to operate under the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, which even the Pentagon says is unsubstantiated. As General McChrystal asks for more troops in Afghanistan, one gay Navy vet offers his service to his country in spite of the policy that would deny him.

DID my time in 1962-1964, met the love of my life while serving and wonder what would have happened differently if their had been an open policy. Thanks for sharing this article and I hope this policy is changed SOON!!!

Christopher what really burns my ass is this. I served in Viet Nam and trust me anyone who didn't know I was Gay was sitting with his head up his ass. They could care less all they wanted were warm bodies. Trust me America Gays are doing more than their part to protect us all in the military so get behind them and let the Powers That Be know they are WRONG!!

Christopher Rice Sorry if my posts have been TV heavy of late, but y'all gotta check out MERCY on NBC. It just got a full season order so it should be around for a while. The Iraq vet storylines should appeal to those of you who liked BLIND FALL. Also, in other news, the advance copies of THE MOONLIT EARTH arrived this past week! Have ...to come up with some contests some of you can win a few.

Christopher Rice Wow. 76 responses to my TV poll! August is turning out to be a real vacation month, largely because response to THE MOONLIT EARTH at Scribner is so positive ( Translation: I haven't been asked to do a bunch of rewrites.) I'm kicking around ideas for the next one, which might take me to Eastern Europe.
