Bryan Zive

Bryan Zive Chris, the album is absolutely amazing. I remember sitting in the backyard with you, looking at the score. And, now, hearing it all together, I am blown away. Thank you for bringing such beautiful music into our lives.

Christopher Tin Gaming site Dualshockers.com reviews Calling All Dawns: "I challenge anyone to close their eyes, throw on a good pair of headphones and listen to Baba Yetu featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir and not be moved." http://bit.ly/36Q3iN

This is our first musical review ever at DualShockers and it is with great pleasure that I had the opportunity to listen to “Calling All Dawns” composed by Christopher Tin. I will start off by saying that ...

Richard

Richard I just bought the album. As much as I loved Civ 4, the title music was my favourite part of the game... I assumed the music was done by some band from Africa and was surprised when I discovered your page. This album is incredible. You've got a great future ahead of you, Mr. Tin. Good job.

Julia Day

Julia Day I absolutly LOVE your work. I'm going to major in Music Composition, so do you have any advice on composing great pieces such as your own?

Julia, it's always been my philosophy that if you can master just two skills, you can write great music for anything: movies, musicals, pop songs, video games, etc. Those two skills are 1) writing great melodies, and 2) having a great sense of structure--that is, knowing when to switch to a bridge, knowing when to modulate, knowing when to come ... Read Moreback to the head, etc. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at mail@christophertin.com. And also, in case you're interested, I've answered other composers' questions on my blog before. Maybe you'll find something interesting there: http://www.christophertin.com/blog/labels/Teaching.html

Craig Rude

Craig Rude I'm a percussionist from Metamora, and my band director just told us that we are using Baba Yetu as a combined choral/band finale. I absolutely love that piece of music and had hoped to get the chance to perform it. Now I am very very excited to get to perform it!!

Natalie Sklobovskaya

Natalie Sklobovskaya Been telling all my music-philic friends about Calling All Dawns and so far the response is 100% thrilled! :) And, myself, am a happy owner of 2 pre-ordered copies -- thanks for writing such inspirational music! (Though, still kind of wish I got a horn part to one of the pieces thrown into that envelope ;) )
Take care, hope to hear lots more from you in the coming future!
