Hi,
What school do you teach at? Maybe we can chat...I'm at Tec, campus Santa Fe, and I teach all my classes in English and have no problems...I have students that have even wanted to turn in work (in my Spanish speaking classes) in English, because they found it easier...(third semester students).

hi Ms. Mira... u got the same experience just like me then... lol
I think all people, no matter what their ages (babies r not included here) would like to talk about it. Love story, hangout, hobbies and anything connected to teenage life is soo interesting to discuss. It makes my English class alive.

Jenny -Muehlenkamp Pederson Not sure of this site has ever been listed but and easy wayt o grade as well as inform students what learning/material they are accountable for are rubrics. Rubistar is a free website for teachers to use that allows them to build rubrics for all content areas. Very simple to set one up and down load to your desk top and make further changes. Check it out a definite time saver!

RubiStar is a tool to help the teacher who wants to use rubrics, but does not have the time to develop them from scratch.
Marla Darcy

Marla Darcy Hi. This information is specifically for teachers who teach English as a Second Language. There is a website I love called eslprintables.com. It is free and there is a worldwide community of teachers who belong. If you share an original worksheet and gain points, you get to share from thousands of others. Check it out. It is great!

Winda Suwandi

Winda Suwandi Hi...I'm from Indonesia, teaching English for senior high school since last year. Actually my background as an elementary english teacher for more than 5 years helps me a lot in teaching high school. Because my students now really enjoy how I express my subject in the class. full of expression and sometimes through song. But still, I need to learn more of how to teach them. please give me some ideas...

Hi! I'm a South African, teaching English in Taiwan. I teach mostly elementary and Junior High School kids aged 7 to 15.
I'm having a great time here, so much so that I've been here for nearly 7 years.
One of the things I find difficult, though, is positive and inclusive classroom management. I am able to manage the kid...s, their behavior, and all the little problems that pop up. My worry is that I'm not really able to communicate (because of the Chinese/English language barrier) the "psychology" behind a lot of the management policies I employ in my classroom. Therefore, I feel I sometimes "enforce the rules", rather than "manage the situation".
Any suggestions? Or just any other thoughts? I really look forward to seeing responses from anyone out there!

Terrific article! I was lucky enough to have a Psychology professor who was really into the neurological basis of child development. This was back in the Neolithic Era, around 1963. So, this wasn't all news to me, but the work that has been done in the last 46 years is very interesting.

Undoubtedly, there is cutting-edge research happening ... Read Moreright now. Let's hope it gets through the information pipeline to teachers faster than in the past. More academic journals need an internet presence! They could post last year's articles on-line, and we would still get the information faster than waiting for Teachers College Columbia to dumb it down for us.
