| Mission: | Eventually, we want to provide an education for every girl in the world who wants one. But for now, we're starting small because, according to a Pashto proverb, "drop by drop you make a river." Throughout September 2008, we're raising $115,000, which will fund "Project Wonkhai": the construction of the 600-person school (in Wonkhai, Afghanistan), a health clinic, school supplies, and supplemental salaries for teachers. Construction is already in progress! Fahima Vorgetts, a board member of Women for Afghan Women, collaborates with us by serving as an in-country contractor during frequent trips between the US and Afghanistan. Donors and supporters can track progress through her blog and updates on our websites! |
